What is Your Vision

Julie Chance What is your vision for 2007? What is it that you want? Now is the time to paint a picture of your future. Describe in detail what it is that you want. And allow yourself to feel how you will feel when you have accomplished this vision.

When I work with clients one of the first things I ask them is what is your vision for your company? Where do you see the business being in three, five, and ten years? Tell me about your ideal scenario.

I remind them that this is a vision not a set of goals - it should have feeling. I tell them to dream big. And to remember that if they shoot for the moon and miss they'll still be among the stars.

As you paint your ideal picture for 2007, answer the following questions. And, if you really want to be successful, commit your answers to paper.

• What kind of clients do you want to be working with?

• Where do you want to be spending your time?

• What products and services do you offer?

• Do you have employees, if so how many and what…

How is “Sympathize with Gaza” a political slogan?!

Image
I understand the whole thing about keeping sports away from ‘politics’ and sports being a way to bring people together rather than keep them apart. However, I cannot understand how Abu Trieka’s simple gesture in support of Gazzans who are under an inhumane seige and unbearable conditions, how that is considered a political action. His shirt didn’t refer to any political party…it didn’t even mention Palestine (for those people who don’t believe it exists!!!). It was just a very simple act of solidarity with fellow human beings. Plus, what is happening in Gaza (especially before the ‘prison break’) is so extreme in nature, that I think it deserves not just the attention of the whole world but their action as well. Life cannot, should not, go on as normal. I’ve said this many times but I’ll say it once again. I do not mean to belittle any other nation’s suffering by focusing on the plight of Palestinians. A tragedy is a tradegy no matter how many people involved. However, …

The curse of Gaza

By Yossi Sarid
After more than 40 years, "cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease," what good is one more "Warm Winter"? Even a thousand swallows from the rumpled sleeves of Ehud Olmert and Mahmoud Abbas will not make a spring. It happened in the winter of 1969: Ariel Sharon, then a major-general on active duty in the Israel Defense Forces, invited Pinhas Sapir, then finance minister and kingmaker, to tour the West Bank with him. Sapir asked me to come along, and I did. Sharon, for his part, tried to win us over with the marvels of occupation, the mirage of Greater Israel. We spent a whole day in the territories together, and at the end, the frightened guest told his excited host: Today we hold the territories, tomorrow they will hold us. And to me Sapir whispered in terror: This man is dangerous, he will be the end of us, causing us a great deal of trouble.

Decades later Sharon, too, began - only began - to understand: Israel may h…

Real Success

"Don't aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally." -David Frost- *~*~*~*~*~* Success Is Waiting For You
Nature is at work around you.
Character and destiny are her handiwork. She gives you love and hate, jealousy and reverence. You have the power to choose which impulses you will follow. Your character is formed by your circumstances, but your own desires can do much to shape those circumstances. What's really ennobling in the doctrine of free will is the conviction that you have the power over the formation of your own character. You can at any time decideto alter the course of your life. No one can ever take that away from you. You're the master or your joys and sorrows. The greatest power you possess is the power to choose. You're the captain of your soul.

Profits Are Better Than Wages

by Jim RohnMy mentor, when I was 25 years old, dropped a phrase on me that changed my life forever when he said, "profits are better than wages. Wages will make you a living, profits can make you a fortune." You know it is a bit difficult to get rich on wages, but anybody can get rich on profits. Profits change your whole attitude, even if you start part-time. Whether it's part time on your entrepreneurial business, network marketing company or service business.

It can be a landscape business in the summer or hanging Christmas lights in the winter. It can be training, consulting or tutoring. It can be your hobby such as painting, writing, crafts, woodworking, computers or cooking. But once you start investing even part time effort into your own business, you will find how much more exciting it is to get up in the morning and go to work on your fortune, even if you're only spending a few hours a week doing it.

How empowering it is to be able to go to work o…

PLEASE Everybody

Today's thought from Hazelden is:
I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody.
--Bill Cosby

"Oh, how I wish my dad would get sober." "Oh, how I want my friend to get help with her eating problem." "Oh, how I wish I could make my mom understand."

When we become obsessed with how we want others to change, we put our own happiness on hold. As we wait, hoping and scheming about how to get others to see their many problems, we are neglecting ourselves. It's almost as if we think it's not fair for us to be happy when others are miserable. But when we detach with love, we still care, we still pray and wish for the best, but we know that other people's problems belong to them, not to us.

Today let me accept the fact that if I detach with love, no one will die from it. I'll just be more healthy and happy

These Are My Wishes For You

May you find serenity and tranquility in a world you may not always understand.May the pain you have known and the conflict you have experienced give you the strength to walk through life facing each new situation with courage and optimism.Always know that there are those whose love and understanding will always be there, even when you feel most alone.May a kind word, a reassuring touch, and a warm smile be yours every day of your life, and may you give these gifts as well as receive them. Remember, those whose lives you have touched and who have touched yours are always a part of you, even if the encounters were less than you would have wished.
It is the content of the encounter that is more important than its form.May you not become too concerned with material matters, but instead place immeasurable value on the goodness in your heart.
Find time in each day to see beauty and love in the world around you.Realize that what you feel you lack in one regard you may be more t…

8. Teach everyone how to add value.
9. Do everything more, better, faster, different, funner or less.
10. Always honor the customer but humor yourself.

SKILLS MAKE LABOR MORE VALUABLE

by Jim Rohn
As you know by now, if you have been a long time student of my philosophies, I'm a very big proponent of activity, labor and discipline. In fact I devoted one of the five major pieces to the life puzzle (in my book under the same name) to the subject of activity and labor. But now let me add another key word to the labor equation - skillful. Yes, skillful labor.

We need the skills to help build our family's dreams, the skills to stir up an enterprise and make it successful. We need skills to build equities for the future. We need skills of all kinds. How about this - skillful language. If you just talk to your family you can hold them all together, but if you skillfully talk to your children you can help them build dreams for the future. That is why I spend so much time at the Weekend Seminar on communication - how to affect others with words. You can't be lazy in language - it cost too much. What if you meant to say "what's troubling you?&q…

One Hour Makes All the Difference

By: Brian TracyYou've gone as far as you can with what you now know. Any progress you make from this moment onward will require that you learn and practice something new.

Commit to Lifelong Learning
One quality of leaders and high achievers in every area seems to be a commitment to ongoing personal and professional development. They look upon themselves as self-made people, as “works in progress.” They never become complacent or satisfied. They are always striving toward ever greater heights of knowledge and understanding.

Get to the Top in Five Years
Earl Nightingale said many years ago that one hour per day of study in your chosen field was all it takes. One hour per day of study will put you at the top of your field within three years. Within five years you’ll be a national authority. In seven years, you can be one of the best people in the world at what you do.

DO IT NOW

Things you're always going to do later never do get done. What you put off until someday will always be out of your reach. If anything is important enough to do someday, then it is worth starting on right now. If you're going to actually do it, then you must do it in the moment you're in. Procrastination may seem like an easy way to avoid taking action. What it really is, though, is an ever-increasing burden of guilt and regret that you place on yourself. Think of how awful it feels to know that you could have done, or could be doing, but instead you waited until too late. Fortunately, there is a simple and highly effective way to ease that burden. Take action now. Choose something that you have continued putting off, and go ahead and get it done. You've made many great plans and promises. Go ahead, act on them, and see how great it is to make them real.

A Light in the Woods

By Terri Duncan
I had nearly forgotten the sheer delight of capturing lightning bugs with my brother and sister, but one sticky night this summer, I remembered. A flicker of golden yellow darting through the pines rekindled in me a childhood memory that had smoldered, one that had regrettably almost been extinguished.

The children and I had been out, and as we pulled into the driveway, darkness was upon us. I was fumbling through my purse frantically searching for house keys when my son called out, “Look, Mama! I see a light in the woods!”
I glanced up, but all I saw were trees silhouetted in the moonlight.
“I see it, too!” squealed my daughter. “Look, Mama, over there in the pine trees.”
From the corner of my eye, I caught an ever-so-brief glimpse of golden light. I slipped on my glasses and peered into the darkness. Once again, there was a momentary flicker, and with that instantaneous spark, I remembered.
Though some call them fireflies, in the …

No Joy For Hamilton

Image
Lewis Hamilton had what looked to be the race in Japan sown up with a fantastic pole position from the qualifiers, but sadly this wasn’t to be. He finished outside the points in 12th place as he didn’t recover from a collision with Felipe Massa in the early stages of the race. Unsurprisingly for the two in front, this meant that another driver took advantage of the difficult conditions and made what looked to be reasonably easy work of it. That driver was Fernando Alonso, who roared to success – as he did in Singapore. Massa (Hamilton’s arch rival in this year’s F1 season) managed to take 8th place but was later promoted to seventh after Sebastien Bourdais received a penalty for another collision. Once again, Japan proved to be an extremely exciting race, if rather a let-down for the young British driver. Perhaps, and I’ll just say perhaps at the moment, there is evidence of yet more controversy here. Ferrari’s Massa managed to collide with both Hamilton and Bourdais. In the first instan…

What is up with manufacturers producing strange vehicles that are normally completely outside their remit and brand? Lamborghini is at it this time. You could understand if they were targeting the older generation with their new four door concept that looks quite similar to the Reventon – but let’s face it, the car will still probably come with far too much power for the average person. The design of the car has sharp lines, black air intakes and LED exterior lights – something that has been carried over from the current models and make it stand out from the crowd. The body shape however reminds me of some sort of strange bastard child of an RX-8 and – well I’m not sure what. I’m not a fan though unfortunately. Apparently, in the official press release, Lamborghini have stressed that you can carry the kids around in it very comfortably and they won’t complain. However, you still get four wheel drive and a rumoured V-10 that will live in front of the cabin – presumably in front of the…

I Love U

I Love You, HoneyThey have been married for a long time. As usual they have their ups and downs. One day they had a big fight over his long working hours and things are falling apart. He was disappointed and she was angry. After one week of silence treatment from her wife, he approached her with papers and pencils. He suggested that both of them sit down on the dining table and write down on paper what they are not happy about each other. They will then exchange the papers and discuss. So the wife started to write without looking up because she has a lot to write about her frustration. The husband took a long look at the wife and he too started to write. After fifteen minutes of writing, they look at each other and exchange the papers. The husband looked at the paper full of complaints. She was angry. When the wife looked at his paper, she was embarrassed and quickly tears away her own paper. On his paper, he wrote for two full pages:
"I love you, honey"May you alw…

Stretch the Rope
Katherine Whellams

A wise and understanding heart does not repay a hurt with a hurt. In doing so, the heart is diminished. Fissures form. Love leaks out. Every pain given in return for one received, changes the contents of the heart. It is no longer defined by love, wisdom and understanding. It is redefined by the bearers of hurt and hate, pain and prejudice, meanness and madness, sorrow and sadness. You give away control of your very own heart.Revenge does not diminish the pain. It only makes it worse. Hurting the one that you love will eventually hurt you in the end. Overcoming it, not clinging to the hurt and inflicting more of it on the world, heals the despair of being hurt. When darkness is added to darkness, no one can see, no one can love, and everyone loses. It's been said that an eye for an eye makes the world blind. Love is not always warm and fuzzy. Sometimes it's the integrity we hold onto when we're tempted to strike back. Sometimes …

You are a Shining Star

Joseph Plazo, Ph.D
You can ask some people the direct question, “What makes someone credible?” With others, you may have to be somewhat indirect. Ask, “Who do you think is really reliable and can be believed? Why?” You may have to be even more indirect with some people. Ask, “Who do think is a great leader? Why?” The responses you get to these questions indicate each person's key credibility markers.

Once you know the important markers, assess yourself. How well do you measure up to the standards mentioned by each person? For example, assume your boss indicates credibility comes from an established track record of success. Review your track record. As another example, assume an important coworker feels that follow-through on tasks counts as an important credibility marker. Assess your level of follow-through on assignments. In some cases you will not have to do much to build your credibility because you already stand out in areas important to others. Your boss may alr…

Three Important Qualities for Life

1.CONFIDENCE:

One Day all villagers decided to pray for rain.
On the day of prayer all people gathered & Only one boy comes with umbrella.
THAT'S CONFIDENCE.
*
2.TRUST:

Trust should be like feeling of a 1 year old baby, When you throw him in the air, he laughs....
Because he knows you will catch him...
*
3.HOPE:

Every night we go to bed,
Have no assurance to get up alive in the next morning
But still we have many plans for coming day...

KEEP CONFIDENCE, TRUST IN GOD AND NEVER LOSE HOPE...*

Act Generously

When a person has lived properly and acted generously, he grasps the way things are. He is not dependent on attachments; he is free from anger and aversions; what he does becomes perfect action.

The pureness of perfectly balanced action based on seeing the way things are--this is freedom and the ending of ignorance.

Love Yourself

Love yourself and be awake-
Today, tomorrow, always.

First establish yourself in the way,
Then teach others,
And so defeat sorrow.

To straighten the crooked
You must first do a harder thing-
Straighten yourself.

You are your only master.
Who else?
Subdue yourself,
And discover your master.

Lina, Dream a Little Dream...

Hey Lina,Let's just say that we want you to know that Impossible is Just a Word.Everyone, at some point of his or her life, has dreamed of being somebody special, somebody big. Who hasn't fantasized about being the one who hits the game-winning homer?Who hasn't dreamed of being the homecoming queen? And how many times have we dreamed of being rich, or successful, or happy with our relationships?Often, we dream big dreams and have great aspirations.Unfortunately, our dreams remain just that - dreams. And our aspirations easily collect dust in our attic. This is a sad turn of events in our life. Instead of experiencing exciting adventures in self actualization, we get caught up in the humdrum of living from day-to-day just barely existing. But you know what?Life could be so much better, if only we learned to aim higher. The most common problem to setting goals is the word impossible. Most people get hung up thinking I can't do this. It's too hard. It'…

Self Talk

When you meet problems or a target then you say to your self, "I Can't achieve it" or "I Can't do it", it means you close the door & you close your opportunity. So, what should you talk to your self? I think better u say to your self "How can I achieve it?" or "How can I do it"?, it means you open your door, open your heart, open your mind, and open your opportunity for improvement. So, if every things goes realistic, never say " I Can't ", but always talk to your self first. "How Can I"? Life is about problems & target. How can I solve the problems? How Can I achieve my targets? then..Action!! The point is "how self talk working in your self". Positive..Positive..and Positive..!

The Big 10 Innovation Killers

by Joyce Wycoff “70% of all business initiatives fail.” – Harvard eLearning Alert While it’s probably impossible to compute the exact percentage of business initiatives that fail, it is widely acknowledged that most do. After years of research and observation, it is clear that the same reasons for any change initiative failure tend to be the same culprits that make innovation initiatives fail. Here are the top ten reasons for innovation failure: Not creating a culture that supports innovation ownership from business unit managers Not having a widely understood, system-wide process Not allocating resources to the process Not tying projects to company strategy Not spending enough time and energy on the fuzzy front-end Not building sufficient diversity into the process Not developing criteria and metrics in advance Nottraining and coachinginnovation teamsNot having an idea management system
